Reykholt Contadini Islandesi by Uwe Rosenberg MENIAC!

You might think that makes Reykholt the more unique game, but my impression is the opposite: I think At the Gates of Loyang is by far the most unique of Rosenberg's farming games and in a collection that is looking to "cover all the bases" I think it's almost a necessity on those grounds, whereas Reykholt strikes me as taking some of the bare bones that makes Loyang unique and then mixing it.

REYKHOLT! Ive seen mixed views on this one from Uwe Rosenberg from last year but having now

For those that are familiar with Uwe Rosenberg who has designed games such as Agricola, Le Harve and A Feast for Odin, it will come as no surprise that Reykholt centres around food, or more poignantly, farming, although I wouldn't get too hung up on the theme as you will be very disappointed if that is what is attracting you to this game.

The masterful Uwe Rosenburg, the mind behind wonderful games like Patchwork, Cottage Garden and not to mention Agricola has a new game arriving in English at SPIEl '18 this year, Reykholt.. The game, published by both Frosted Games and Renegade Game Studios, sees you as farmers on Iceland, looking to benefit from the wonderful geothermal energy that the land offers.

Reykholt DUALGAMES

Reykholt is a new release from renowned designer Uwe Rosenberg. Heavier than his earlier games like Bohnanza and Mamma Mia!, but lighter than his later designs like Le Havre and Caverna, Reykholt is a great introduction to euro-style strategy games. Review Before I played Reykholt, I heard it touted as an "Intro to Uwe Rosenberg."

Uwe Rosenberg (born 27 March 1970) is a German game designer and the co-founder of Lookout Games. He initially became known for his card game Bohnanza, which was successful both in Germany and internationally. He is more recently known for developing many highly-acclaimed strategy games, such as Agricola and A Feast for Odin.

Reykholt

The prolific and ever-reliable Uwe Rosenberg is far and away one of our favorite game designers, and it's been that way ever since we fell in love with his industry-shaking Agricola when it was released over a decade ago.Rosenberg's games have spanned a wide number of settings, from the historical (A Feast for Odin, At the Gates of Loyang) to the fantastical (the dwarven cave-farming.

Review Reykholt (Brettspiel von Uwe Rosenberg)

Reykholt is a pretty standard worker placement game. It plays in under an hour with a decent amount of decisions to be made. I think this game would serve as an excellent entry-level worker placement game for new board gamers, as well as an entry point for other Uwe Rosenberg games. 3.5/5. Sale.

SPIEL 2018 Uwe Rosenberg im Gespräch über Reykholt YouTube

Uwe Rosenberg (designer of, you know, this game you're reading about now!) has quite the design pedigree, not just for board gamers writ large, but solo board gamers, too. He almost always includes a full-fledged solo variant in his games, and, in my mind, many of these variants are really great, engaging games.

Growing and harvesting vegetables is nothing new in the world of Uwe Rosenberg. We've seen this iteration in many of his games before. In the same strategic vein as his other titles, Reykholt stays true to the minimizing and maximizing of your actions and resources each turn.

The idea of a lighter Uwe Rosenberg game to play solo with a cute theme really appealed to me. (A Feast for Odin is my favourite Rosenberg game, but I don't always have the time to get that out) So far, it's delivering on both of those fronts, but I'm pretty bad at it.
