This Hoya was eventually named after the founder and one of the first collectors, Paul Shirley, a grower based in the Netherlands. Hoya 'Paulshirleyi' is thirsty and a fast grower, with a twining climbing growth habit. Leaves are quite thick and glossy with thin venation running down the length.
